Episode Description:
Have you ever been told your blood test results are “normal”, yet you know you still don’t feel like yourself?
In this episode, I’m speaking with Dr Swaroopini Thangarajah, General Practitioner Obstetrician, about perimenopause, women’s health and patient advocacy, and why symptoms should never be viewed in isolation.
We explore what may warrant further investigation when fatigue, weight changes, poor sleep, pain, mood changes or other symptoms are affecting your everyday life. Dr Swaroopini also explains why conditions such as iron deficiency, thyroid dysfunction, diabetes, insulin resistance and PCOM can sometimes overlap with symptoms women may assume are simply part of perimenopause.
Most importantly, we discuss how women can advocate for themselves, prepare for appointments, ask for more time when needed and keep seeking support when something still doesn’t feel right.
