Surround yourself with people that make it inevitable for you to succeed!
Nobody ever succeeded on their own! There is always the need for some sort of support group. This might include coaches, friends, colleagues, associates, health professionals etc. It is a group of people that helps you be better in one way or another. It is not the ‘negative Nancies’ that bring you down, make you feel horrible, give you anxiety, make you feel inferior or stop you from progressing. Those people should be cut loose. Surround yourself with people that will make it inevitable for you to succeed; succeed by being better in some way.
In order for me to be able to achieve what I do in life I surround myself with a team of legends. My legends include (sorry if I miss listing someone):
- An incredible supportive husband and children
- A handful of incredible friends that bring out the best in me and are there for me through thick and thin (quality over quantity)
- A business Coach
- A training Coach
- An incredible staffing team
- An amazing Chiro
- An amazing Herbal Medicine Doctor
- An awesome team of dog groomers for my poochies
- And my amazing web support team
Look around at the people that you have around you 90% of the time. Do those people call you on your bullshit? Uplift you? Teach you? Empower you? Support you? Make you better in some way? If you are around anyone who does not make you better in some way, they need to be relegated to the remaining 10% of your time. You don’t have to cut them loose (although that is sometimes necessary too), just limit your exposure to them. Fact: for every negative you hear, it takes 7 positives to outdo the negative!
When you allow one of these energy suckers into your 90% of time, you are draining your energy stores, reducing and limiting your growth and success capacity. If you are wondering why you keep self-sabotaging, beating yourself up, maybe feel under valued or worthless, take a good hard objective look at your 90%. Time to do some sorting.
And if you are worried about offending anyone, think about this; are worried about the damage they are doing to you when they are not helping you be the better version of yourself? Are they worried about you when you feel anxious, undervalued, worthless, inadequate etc. around them? Don’t put others above yourself. You cannot be who you want to be when you have people holding you back.
Pick your 90% timers wisely. Make them the best group they could possibly be. And you will see your personal success rate, self-worth and self-respect skyrocket! Unleash the best version of you!
