Ladies over 40 struggling with perimenopause hormone symptoms, let me ask you something.
Have you ever Googled one symptom and ended up more confused than when you started?
One minute you’re searching “3am wake ups.”
The next minute you’re knee deep in cortisol hacks, detox teas and carb debates.
There is so much information online about perimenopause.
And honestly, most of it works.
That’s what makes it so confusing.
Because the real question is not, “Does it work?”
The real question is, “Is it right for me?”
When I was navigating my own midlife changes, I went down that rabbit hole too.
I read everything, listened to every expert.
Tried different training styles, tweaked nutrition, and adjusted supplements.
Some things helped.
Some things made me feel worse.
Eventually I realised something important.
Like everything I’ve ever coached, perimenopause is not a one size fits all phase.
It is highly individual.
Your body composition matters, as do your stress levels, sleep patterns, lifestyle, somatic type and movement levels.
Your history with dieting matters, and so does your nervous system sensitivity.
And in midlife, hormones amplify all of it.
For example, some women respond well to lower carbohydrates.
However, others experience fatigue, cravings and elevated cortisol.
Similarly, intermittent fasting suits certain women beautifully.
Meanwhile, others find their sleep deteriorates and anxiety increases.
Context changes everything.
During perimenopause, oestrogen and progesterone fluctuate unpredictably.
As a result, insulin sensitivity shifts.
Stress tolerance changes.
Recovery slows.
Therefore, strategies that once worked in your 30s may no longer feel effective.
That does not mean you are doing anything wrong.
It simply means your physiology has changed.
The internet cannot assess your stress load.
Google does not know your sleep quality.
Instagram does not understand your emotional triggers.
And TikTok definitely does not know your nervous system.
This is why guessing is exhausting.
Guessing costs time, it costs confidence and can be very expensive.
And, it often increases stress, which then worsens hormonal symptoms.
Instead, what works best is personalisation.
When I work with a woman, I begin with a comprehensive evaluation.
I want to understand her lifestyle, her eating patterns, her stress triggers, her body type, her hormonal symptoms, and her sleep patterns.
Only then can we build something personally tailored.
Because effective midlife support is layered.
It is not just nutrition.
It is not just exercise.
It is not just supplements.
It is the integration of sleep, stress management, hydration, movement and mindset.
When those pieces align, you stop guessing and feeling confused and start feeling confident and empowered.
Consistency becomes easier.
Energy improves, cravings reduce and sleep stabilises.
That’s when women start feeling like themselves again.
So, if you are feeling overwhelmed by the abundance of info online, pause and take a breath.
Instead of asking, “What is trending?”
Start asking, “What does my body need right now?”
If you would like help removing the guesswork and creating a plan that fits your body and lifestyle, book a Strategy Session.
Together, we will explore what is actually right for you.
