Today we celebrate Kathryn Lieschke. When Kathryn first joined Terrific Fitness in November 2021 she was struggling with fatigue and feeling not quite right.
In July Kathryn decided to invest in our Nutrition Coaching Program with me as her Coach, to help her with her autoimmune condition symptoms. Though she never actually ate badly, she just didn’t eat enough of the things her body needed most. Through the program we were able to establish what worked well for Kathryn and helped her learn to listen to what her body needed for nourishment, and what portions worked best for her.
As a result, Kathryn has lost over 8kg since joining TF, 5 of which was as a result of her implementation of what she learned through the Nutrition Coaching Program. It’s not the kilos that are important though, but the fact that Kathryn is feeling so much better overall. She has more energy and feeling really well.
Kathryn is an incredible student, taking everything I taught her in like a sponge. She asked lots of questions, which was music to my ears! I love it when clients ask lots of questions, because not only does it show they care, but it shows they have a thirst to learn, and people who have a thirst to learn, grow as a person. Knowledge is power. The more questions you ask, the more you learn about what works for you and why, and you are more willing to implement and reap the rewards. That was Kathryn to a T!
I am so super proud of Kathryn and everything she has achieved thus far. She is absolutely smashing her health and fitness journey and I am honoured to be a part of it. Keep up the incredible work Kathryn!
- Coach Terri
Here is Kathryn’s story in her words:
“I joined Terrific Fitness at the end of the covid lockdowns. I’d been exercising regularly throughout the lockdowns but had definitely put on the covid kilos. My previous gym changed locations and I came across an ad for Terrific Fitness on Facebook. One of the school mums attended TF and described it to me as a ‘gym family’. She spoke highly of the support and trainers, so I thought I’d give it a go.
I started with a 28 Day Kickstart Challenge. I like the feel of the smaller personalised gym but still having the variety of classes. Because of my busy life (family, work, study, kid’s sports, and my own sports) I need a gym that has an online option also. I love that if I can’t make it in person I can also attend online.
Nutrition Coaching was definitely a big success for me. I always thought I ate well but the nutrition coaching has been life changing.
I’ve experienced overall more energy and my autoimmune symptoms have decreased.
In my mid-thirties I was diagnosed with 2 autoimmune conditions. I take medication for them but still didn’t feel like myself. I then saw a specialist and started taking supplements. I started to feel better but there was one final piece of my health puzzle that I needed help with. I really feel like the training and nutrition coaching was the missing piece of that puzzle.
I love feeling normal. I didn’t realise how fatigued and tired I felt until I didn’t. I’ve always played netball and I can feel myself getting fitter and having more energy. I love that TF aligns with my own personal health journey.
If I’m working from home, I try and do a 6am class otherwise I train later in the evening. If my basketball coaching commitments permit, I also do Saturday morning THT (Tummy, Hips and Thighs) class. On average I probably train 3 to 4 times per week. I play netball twice per week.
I’m gluten free and vegetarian. Before nutrition coaching, I could not lose weight and put this down to my autoimmune issues. Since understanding nutrition more thanks to Terri, I feel more empowered and educated to make better food choices.” – Kathryn Lieschke
