
Today we celebrate Erandi Hettiarachchi. Erandi is one of the most warm hearted and humanly conscious members of the community. Joining us in February 2021, Erandi was looking for a change and guidance into how she could change her lifestyle habits to improve her health. She wanted to lose some weight and tone up. Over the period she has been with us, has tried a few different options including Personal Training (PT), engaged in other coaching programs such as the Healthy Habits Program, attended workshops and been part of social events.
Life keeps challenging all of us, and Erandi’s time at Terrific Fitness (TF) is no different. Overcoming Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), readjusting lifestyle habits, learning better dietary choices that have aided over come her health dilemmas (more than just PCOS), as well as physical injuries that slowed her down and precluded certain exercises and movements. These changes and adjustments have been hard. But Erandi has risen above them and continues to improve and learn about her body and how it works. One of her great successes has been the long healing process of reducing her PCOS condition to the point now it hardly impacts her life.
I coach Erandi in Personal Training and she participates in my classes as well as other classes. She puts 100% effort and attention into her exercises. She is a very coachable member and her conscious efforts have paid in return success that show in her body shape, health, strength capacity and cardio fitness. Also to mention is her impact on being able to influence her family into better health options and decisions. Her husband Ruwan has also embarked on a health strategy with his own success also.
Over the past 6-8 weeks Erandi embarked on her own changes to her lifestyle to seek further improvements. After all the knowledge gained and the guidance of the coaches, Erandi took the step herself to take things one step further. She eliminated certain foods that inflamed her, such as wheat, gluten, sugar, dairy and coffee, in order to fulfil her own goals. As a result Erandi has dropped a further 1.6kg of body weight, 5.3% down in body fat, has dropped 1 level in her visceral fat, has increased her muscle mass by 1.2kg and has lowered how Basal Metabolic Age from 43 years old to 35 years old. Keep in mind Erandi’s biological age is 43. The photos speak for themselves. They show her progress from her first day with TF til now.
Overall Erandi has dropped 12kg in weight, 15cm around her waist, 10cm around her hips and her basal metabolic age has gone from 57 to 38 years!!!

When I first met Erandi, she was a shy quiet woman who was lacking in confidence and struggled to smile deeply from her soul. Today, she is still shy and quiet, however she has come right out of her shell, is oozing with confidence and doesn’t stop smiling with her everything.
Erandi is one of the most coachable people that have ever attended TF. She participates in every program we offer to make the most of her membership, drawing on the expertise of her coaches and taking on board all of the new found knowledge.
She trains like an absolute machine, always putting 110% effort, even with a shoulder injury, and does so with a smile!

“Before joining TF I had so many barriers to overcome; my weight, PCOS (Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome), hormonal imbalance, sleep deprivation, anxiety for challenges, maintain healthy diet, establish new healthy habits, emotional stress made by closest relations and mostly to build up positive mindset.
I did not have a plan at the beginning. All I wanted to do was to build my personality. Once I understood the programs TF offered, it gave me a clear picture where I should start, and I saw it as rehabilitating my body and mindset from A to Z.
My journey with TF started with 2 workouts per week and after 2 months I followed Nutrition Coaching for 6 weeks with coach Stephen. I obtained more knowledge about food that I eat and how my digestion system responds to it. This program is more like detoxing body. End of Nutrition Boot Camp I lost 6-7 kg of body weight.
After tracing all the food types which I had to eliminate, I started Healthy Habit Program with coach Stephen for 5 months when we were in lockdown due to Covid outbreak. This benefitted me to have consistent mindset to establish healthy habits in daily routines. I have successfully established 18 healthy habits which I am still following with no effort until now. The most effective feature in this program is that I had to send my feedback end of each week (self-reflection) to coach Stephen where he sent back his feed back, encouraging me to maintain my healthy habits and alternatives for barriers. These face-to-face meetings gave me more charisma and definitely, it improved my mind set.
End of 2021 I was craving for more strength and knowledge about my body, so I started PT (Personal Training one on one) with coach Stephen.
I must say that the year 2021 was THE YEAR that I walked away from my comfort zones genuinely and TF was where I found my new life and a place which my life became more beautiful and worthy.
In this time:
- I have reversed 2 decades of Poly Cystic Ovary syndrome completely.
- Build up positive mind set to lifelong goals.
- Established 18 healthy habits to my daily routines including non-negotiable workouts.
- Mindset was set up to find alternatives in every barrier I had in my life.
- Always threw myself “Why” and “What” questions, where I build confidence to self-reflect, re-evaluate myself with things I do and planned.
- Gained my strength and loss my weight by 12kg
- In 2022, with a shoulder injury I have been completing 3-4 workouts per week and PT with Coach Stephen.
The journey that I have started with TF has given me all the privileges to gain back courage and confidence that I needed all along, to be a fully independent woman as I always wanted to be, and I am free. I gave up all energy drainers, surrounded myself with people who uplifted my strength and energy when I was in worse situations in my life.
