10 Ways to Boost Your Energy:

  1. Sleep – Getting adequate sleep is vital for energy. You need at least 7-8 hours per night. Otherwise, you are trying to function on fumes.
  2. Hydration – Ensuring you are fully hydrated as water is vital for all hormone synthesis and digestion. Your hormones and digestion coupled together, dictate your energy levels!
  3. Eat enough food – Too many times we see people starving themselves on ridiculous calorie deficits, 100 calorie diets and/or skipping meals. This is an absolute killer for your energy levels. Ensure you are eating enough food for your body. If you are not sure how to figure out if you are eating enough, have a chat with one of our coaches.
  4. Eating protein, good fats, and vegetables in every meal – You wouldn’t expect your car to run without fuel, nor would you put orange juice in the tank. It won’t go! So what makes you think your body is any different? You need proper fuel to nourish and energize your body.
  5. Nutrient deficiencies – Stay on top of these. Low iron, low vitamin D and low B12 can make you feel exhausted and sluggish.
  6. Avoid stimulants – Sugary food, coffee, alcohol, energy drinks, Berocca, and other stimulants give you a quick pick-me-up, but bring you down just as fast! They create a terrible spike and drop which warps your hormones and has you feeling worse over time.
  7. Exercise – The more you exercise, the more endorphins you produce and the more energy you gain.
  8. Laugh – Laughter is an excellent medicine for the soul. It increases your endorphins and serotonin making you feel great and boosting your energy.
  9. Slow down – Stop trying to fit a week into 24 hours. You simply overstress your body and mind, exhausting yourself and making you feel miserable! Prioritise what really needs to get done, and reduce the number of things you commit to.
  10. Socialize – Socialization also increases your serotonin and endorphins helping you feel better and more energized. So get together regularly for social events and gatherings with people you love and enjoy the company of.
